David Butler has practiced as a building systems engineer for more than two decades. During this time he has
consulted with multinational manufacturers, energy utilities and land developers on a variety of research and development
projects related to energy efficiency. Butler Résumé
Butler currently resides in the high desert in southeast Arizona where he enjoys performing load calculations and providing
design guidance on high performance homes. Butler holds a BS in Business and an MS in Engineering. He is an associate
member of ASHRAE.
When not at work, Butler enjoys music and astronomy. In 2005, he organized an astronomy themed tour of Chile for a small
group of amateur astronomers (Chile trip)
and maintains an online Yahoo! group dedicated to astronomy in Chile.
Beatrice Richardson is responsible for setting up building models in the load calculation software. Prior to
joining Optimal Building Systems, she worked as a CAD technician for the Guentzler Collins Concept Group, a Sierra Vista
architectural design firm. She received her AS degree in Drafting and Design at Cochise College.
Beatrice is also a certified optician. She trained at the Balthasar-Neumann School in Germany before relocating to the
United States, and is certified by the American Board of Opticianary. Beatrice works part-time at the Sierra Vista Herald,
where she is an award-winning photographer. As well, she is a photography lab assistant at Cochise College.
